| [Tazz vs. Austin, Finaly!][Nov. 13, 2001] | |
| ------After months and months a waiting and anticipating, the Tazz/Austin match finaly took place on the Nov. 12th episode of RAW. Out of nowhere Tazz's challenge to Austin was announced on the RAW preview and I knew I had to let the fans of The Tazzmissionist know! So, I sent out a "late breaking newsletter" to the many that subscribe to The Tazzmissionist Newsletter informing the Tazz fans that more than likely a Tazz/Austin | |
| match would take place; and it did. Before I get to that, though, let me start by describing Tazz's comments before their match when he was being interviewed by Michael Cole-Slaw, as Tazz would call him. Tazz started out by saying that he requested a non-title match because he felt that it wasn't about the title, as prestigious as it may be. He said that for four months Tazz was abused by Austin and he described himself as "The Ball of Rage." Tazz then went on to say that his job was on the line at Survivor Series and that he wanted a little piece of Austin just incase he was going to jump ship. And as Cole stood by listening carefully, Tazz asked a question. "Let me ask you a question. When is a man most dangerous?. . . When he's got absolutely nothing to lose!" |
| -----About one match later it was the moment that all Tazz fans everywhere had waited for. Tazz fans had been waiting for this since Tazz was Taz in ECW talking trash about WCW Champion Goldberg and WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Then, when Tazz and Austin met for the first time in the WWF, it was on one of Tazz's first appearances on his show, Sunday Night Heat. I can't remember why it happened, but I do remember that Austin punched Tazz and threw him over a rail or something. The next time I saw them together was when Austin beat up Michael Cole on Monday, and Tazz came out to the ring when Austin called out Booker T. Tazz demanded that Austin apologize to Cole. He did, but he beat up Tazz afterwards. And then there was the time Austin whiped |
| Tazz with his belt when Tazz went to The Alliance. And then there was the time when Tazz told Austin that there was a chance that Kurt Angle would kick his ass. Tazz got beat up again. And then there was the time Tazz was "the party pooper" and Austin made him leave the party. And then there was last Thursday when Tazz told Austin nobody liked him. He got a stunner, but atleast it set up a match the following Monday, which was last night, which brings me to now. | |
| ------So, there was alot of history built up into this match. One of the lesser known fueds of the WWF, and could have been alot better, but wasn't used to it's potential. Instead, I was extremely dissappointed at the amount of time the match went for. Well, let me tell you how it went. It started with Tazz comming out in his traditional towl! Yes, Tazz brought back the towl! Anyway, when Austin entered the arena, he wore a pare of denim shorts and his Venom long sleeve. It showed that the match wasn't that important to those on the creative team. Anyway, when Austin slid into the ring, Tazz began by beating him down and backing Austin into a corner. Kicking and punching Tazz was. Austin reversed Tazz and did the same. Tazz then reversed Austin and started kicking and stomping away some more. |
| Tazz then threw Austin to the corner and clothesline the hell out of him with one of those Tazz clotheslines. He then waited for Austin to get up and he locked on the Tazzmission. Austin distracted the referee and nailed Tazz in his "area." Tazz released the hold and was "stunned" by Stone Cold. The match ended in a matter of seconds. All that past was gone to nothing in SECONDS! I had enough time to replay the match twice between the commercials. Tazz's promo was longer! That's okay, though. I believe this Tazz/Austin thing will pop up once again and everything will turn out better the next time around. | |
